Finally! You know football season is right around the corner when Dave Campbell's Texas Football hits the newsstands. It's my absolutely favorite prognostication magazine.

Uh, excuse me one moment...

YEEEAAA!!! WOOHOO!!! SCORE, BABY!!! FOOTBALL IS BACK!!! WOOOOOOOO!!!!!

...okay, I'm back.

No, seriously, you don't know how much I look forward to reading this magazine. Oh, sure, there are lot's of others, like Athlon, Phil Steele, Lindy's, Sporting News, ESPN, Sports Illustrated, etc. And, they're all fine preview mags for college and pro football.

But there's a reason Dave Campell's Texas Football is called "The Bible." :D

No other magazine profiles both the Dallas Cowboys and Houston Texans, then every college team from the University of Texas down to the Junior College level, and every--and I mean EVERY--high school in the state, from the biggest 5A to the smallest 6Man, both public and private schools. If you are a serious football fan, this magazine is a must. If you are a casual fan, you will still enjoy it!

The most exciting prediction: Campbell predicts that not only will the Texas Longhorns win the Big 12 conference -- and beat the Oklahoma Sooners yet again! :) -- but will win the National Championship. QB Colt McCoy is the cover boy. Yeah, no pressure there, right?

Locally, Amarillo High is predicted to finish #4 in District 2-5A, with Tascosa finishing #8. Randall is predicted to finish first in District 3-4A, with PD finishing second, and Caprock at #5. There are too many smaller schools to mention here, so you'll just have to read the magazine!

You can check out Dave Campbell's Texas Football's website at http://www.texasfootball.com/, but there's just no substitute for having the printed copy in your hand. It will take me the rest of the summer to finish reading the entire edition, and I can't wait!
