For many college students it is never too early to begin preparing for Spring Break. For those of us that aren't on rock-star budgets, staying right here in Texas can bring just as much fun. A road trip anywhere is always sure to yield great memories before you even get to your destination.

I just wanted to make some suggestions (however obvious) of fun places to go on your week off.

As far as the Hill Country goes, Lake Travis seems to be the number one spot. There are almost infinite activities and lots of good people.

New Braunfels and San Marcos are also considered by some. The Guadalupe and San Marcos rivers are a blast to float, but I prefer them in the summer. From experience, the water is still a bit chilly during March. But if you are tough enough to brave the temperature there are plenty of people that will join you.

Port Aransas and Galveston are also really fun places to visit. On the Port Aransas beach, trucks are lined up for miles and it is packed to the brim with Spring Breakers. If you enjoy beach volleyball, washers, and other beach games then this is the spot for you. It is a nice atmosphere with the same qualities of South Padre, with less cops and less under-agers.

South Padre Island can probably speak for itself so I won't touch on that...if you really don't know, ask a friend.

With hotels being booked well before March I thought I'd just give you guys a friendly reminder that it might be time to start making plans. Its a shame to miss out on a Texas sized Spring Break.
