I haven't been around a TV in a couple of days and just saw that 459 new jobs are coming to Bell Helicopter. Not only is this good news for the local economy but Amarillo College as well. The Site-manager, Roger Williams, said that over the past few years they have hired 250 grads from the AC program. For anyone who is interested, the average factory employee makes around $24.50 an hour. The program advisor is Richard Whitaker for those seeking information. (whitaker-rw@actx.edu)
Another cool thing, Southwest Airlines has begun to test wireless Internet access on one of it's jets. You can log on from your latop or smart phone, but cellular technology won't be allowed until clearance from the FCC.
